AHC and Friends Climb Snowden

Campaign by Paces Sheffield

We had planned a party to celebrate our 25 years in business but 1st May 2020 was mid-pandemic, so sadly, it never happened. Nor did May 2021! And now were in 2022. But we want a different party now a party with purpose!

Story

On the weekend of 17th and 18th September a bunch of Sheffielders and friends are climbing up Mount Snowdon to raise much needed funds for the amazing Paces School. Were aiming to raise £25,000 by undertaking a Dramatically and Demonstrably Different challenge. Were taking the wonderful local hero Captain Tobias Weller BEM up with us, and wed love you to support us. You can do that in 3 ways Do it with us, Donate to us or really go for it and Do both!

We love a good challenge! Our first was setting up in business (starting off as just good friends back in 1995!) and weve loved connecting and collaborating with lots of brilliant local (and not so local) businesses in our 27 years of business. 2 years ago, we were looking to celebrate our 25 years in business, but COVID got in the way, so now were out of it (hopefully) we thought wed try again. Rather than have a party, we thought wed do something worth doing and what could be better than raising much needed funds for the fantastic Paces School?

But, what to do? Well, weve taken inspiration for 2 sources:

The first was that back in 1997, when our business team at the time, Hallmarks Business Development, took on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon carrying a good friend of ours to the summit in her wheelchair to raise money for The MS Society. It was only when we got to Wales that we discovered you didnt have to carry someone with MS up the mountain, just someone! The other teams taking part were really fit types including the army, the fire service and police teams and their passengersall very small and thin! The Hallmarks team were rookies in C&A jackets, Kendal mint cake, and a bottle of water and a passenger who couldnt really move! But, we did it. Just!

Inspiration 2 is our passenger for this adventure. Yes, we will be carrying someone up in a wheelchair, but hes younger and lighter! Local fund raising hero, Captain Tobias BEM will be joining us with his mum Ruth to help raise funds for Paces School.

So, 25 years on from our first ascent on the weekend of the 17th and 18th September a group of us are heading up Snowdon. It will include members of the Hallmarks team who did it previously, the current Andy Hanselman Consulting team, our clients, friends and hopefully you!
