In the worst flooding since 1924, the entire state of Kerala and parts of Karnataka have been rampaged by torrential rains and landslides. The floods have crippled and disrupted normal life and services. The state has been put under high alert and the entire nation is sending help to deal with this crisis situation.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation has also joined the relief effort by setting up temporary kitchens to prepare and distribute cooked meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner to the flood-affected people of Alapuzha in Kerala and the people of Coorg in Karnataka. Food is being delivered to people in Akshaya Patra meal delivery vans, boats, and also at the temporary kitchens themselves. As of now, we are providing 10,000 meals and bottled water at a cost of 3 Lakh or £3,323 per day.
Help the people of India by donating to The Akshaya Patra Foundation UK. Your donation will be used to provide food to the flood-affected victims of Kerala and Karnataka.
