Dorset Race Equality Council - Your donation counts

Every day, people across Dorset face discrimination, isolation, & injustice—simply because of who they are. And every day, Dorset Race Equality Council is there to stand beside them, to speak up, and to help ensure no one faces those challenges alone

Our mission is supporting individuals, communities and institutions in challenging racism, celebrating diversity, and promoting equality of opportunity for all in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.

Story

Every day, people across Dorset face discrimination, isolation, and injustice—simply because of who they are. And every day, Dorset Race Equality Council is there to stand beside them, to speak up, and to help ensure no one must face those challenges alone.

We’ve heard stories that stay with us:

> A child bullied at school for the colour of their skin.

> A woman turned away from a job interview because of her name.

> A family struggling to find their place in a community that feels unfamiliar.

These are not just stories—they are real lives, here in our towns and cities.

At Dorset REC, our work is about hope. It’s about showing people that they are not alone, that change is possible, and that this community stands for justice, dignity, and equality.

But right now, that work is at risk.

Like many small charities, we’ve been affected by recent funding cuts. Despite continuing high demand for our services, the financial resources we rely on to support Dorset’s diverse communities have significantly declined. We are doing all we can to adapt—but we cannot do it without your support.

If you believe in a fairer, kinder, more inclusive Dorset, please consider making a donation today. A donation—no matter the size—can make a real difference.
