Donna Hawley is an adult instructor for the Army Cadet Force in Yorkshire N&W and has completed many fundraising activities including tandem skydives, brave the shave, walking home for Christmas (168 miles in 4 weeks), Liverpool to Leeds in one day and London 100.

This year she is facing one of the toughest challenges she has ever faced by cycling from LONDON TO AMSTERDAM in 4 days on the 7th / 11 August 2024. The original plan was to cycle London to Paris but it had to be changed as there weren’t enough riders. However, when a place on the London to Amsterdam ride came up, Donna jumped at the chance.  She’s had to change all her travel arrangement and will be cycling with a group of people she doesn’t even know!

She will be biking nearly 300 miles over the 4 days, climbing around 6,000 ft (including about 4,00 on the very first day!). It will an incredibly tough challenge, both mentally and physically.

Donna is based in Stanley, and through this bike ride, is raising money for several different local charities, as well as for the Army Cadet Force. She is very keen that St Peter’s Church and other local organisations benefit from her efforts!
