Background: Friday 30 April 2021 would have been Captain Sir Tom Moores 101st birthday and the one-year anniversary of the extraordinary celebrations following the conclusion of his famous 100 laps of his garden that raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS. Toms simple message of hope Tomorrow will be a good day " resonated around the globe during some of the darkest days of the pandemic, bringing light and comfort to millions worldwide.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. Women, gender minorities, and women of colour have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic. We want to make sure we can find a more sustainable way to support women in music through our charity.
Now the Captain Tom 100 is offering everyone the chance to raise funds for the charity of their choice and we are so happy to invite you to be the change with us!
It's very simple:
1. Pick a challenge including the number 100 from the options below or choose your own challenge, do it 100 times to fundraise for the Donne Foundation.
2. Create your Fundraising Page on JustGiving (click on START FUNDRAISING at the top right of this page). Not already a member? No problem! Its free to join JustGiving and they charge 0% platform fees.
3. Invite your friends and family to sponsor you and start practising for your challenge!
4. Share your 100 challenges on social media between the 30th of April and 3rd of May. Use the hashtag #CaptainTom100Donne so we can see and share your amazing achievments!
