About the event

The Dorset Neon Run is a 5k neon night run open to anyone over the age of 12 in the iconic Poole Park with the aim of having fun and raising vital funds for Diverse Abilities, Dorset's disability charity.

Join up to 1,000 other neon runners and run, jog or walk the 5k route whilst lit up in neon face paint, glow sticks, glow bracelets and fluorescent tutus whatever takes your fancy before returning to show off your bling under UV lights and shake your thing to music at the end.

This event is organised by Diverse Abilities, a disability charity that supports thousands of families across Dorset. The charity provides vital care to children and adults living with physical and learning disabilities whilst also providing support services for them and their families to help them cope with the daily challenges that they may face. Meet one of the families we support

Langside, the specialist school run by Diverse Abilities has welcomed three-year-old triplets Harvey, Gabriel and Daniel with open arms.

All three boys have profound disabilities and life has been very hard for the family, but with Langside School's help this is now changing.

On 28 June 2015, and at only 26 weeks old, we saw the arrival of not just three, but four little guys that would change our lives forevermore - Bradley, Daniel, Gabriel and Harvey." - Rob Emery, father.

Sadly, little Bradley succumbed to a blood clot and left the family at just 16 days old. The family were left with a sore heart and no time to grieve as they three warriors in hospital and two older children at home to care for.

With the boys starting Langside School at any early age, they have access to specialist equipment, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists which are all provided by the charity. This level of support is already helping the boys, giving them the greatest opportunity to positively impact their development.

Your donations change lives to so many families just like the Emery family - thank you.
