Story
Situation
2.8 million people in rural Ghana live in extreme poverty, with energy poverty deepening inequality and stalling development. Ghana has vast renewable energy potential but grassroots awareness is low. Many training models are overly theoretical and even when they include practical elements, they often fail to empower people to become entrepreneurs who can drive change in their communities.
Our solution
Dream Renewables is empowering a new generation of energy entrepreneurs in rural Ghana.
We don’t just deliver training, we equip young people to become problem-solvers, innovators and business-builders tackling energy poverty at the grassroots.
🔹 Hands-On Training: Students in rural schools and universities gain practical skills in solar energy design, installation and maintenance, combining technical knowledge with real-world application.
🔹 Entrepreneurship & Innovation: Our programme supports alumni to identify energy challenges in their communities and develop solutions. With mentoring, business support and access to networks, they’re empowered to build ventures that expand clean energy access.
🔹 Community Projects: Trainees can apply for funding and technical assistance to install solar systems in their own communities, reducing reliance on polluting fuels, cutting energy costs and creating local jobs.
This is how we fight energy poverty: by unlocking local talent, enabling entrepreneurship and driving long-term impact.
