Dress to Impress for Giving Tuesday

This year LTSB is excited to be part of Giving Tuesday, a day created as the charitable answer to the consumer excess of Black Friday. Since it began millions of people around the world have been inspired to donate money, volunteer their time and give their voice to causes they care about. We hope you will feel inspired to do the same via our fundraising campaign Dress to Impress this year.

Imagine getting the news you have been waiting for; the company you have applied to has invited you for an interview, however you have nothing to wear apart from your old, too small, school uniform. This seemingly small but very real barrier is one many of the disadvantaged young people we support face every day. They are bright, capable, super enthusiastic and eager to start their careers however they cannot afford to buy anything until they get their first paycheck let alone a costly suit to make the right first impression.

As part of our programme of support helping young people move into professional roles with major firms we help ensure they have the right clothes for the occasion so they can walk into their interview confident and ready to go. Crucially their potential employers can then focus on what's important; their skills and capabilities.

To help us support many more young people overcome barriers to employment, however big or small, we are asking you to 'dress to impress' on Giving Tuesday, by going to work in your pyjamas!

Please wear your most favourite or comfortable pair, donate at least £10 to LTSB and share a picture or your story on social media to shout out about the way you are making a difference to young people's lives on Giving Tuesday 2021.
