Story

Training The Duncan Nurses of the Future

We have hit our target early - thankyou all so much - we will keep this fundraiser open until its official end date in May 2024 and all further donations will of course all still go towards our next sponsored nurses in training fundraiser which will roll on after this ends and give us a head start!

With your help, we hope to raise £1100 every 6 months to open the opportunity to 2 girls to train as a nurse at The Duncan Hospital in Bihar, girls who otherwise, due to impoverished backgrounds, would never be able to consider a career in nursing.

Each student pays the equivalent of £3,300 to complete the 3-year nursing degree, this amount covers all tuition fees, uniform, board, and lodgings.

These fees are beyond the dreams of many but we can change this for 2 young girls. Staff at The Duncan have helped the DHCT select 2 young girls (seen in photo) for this year's training programme and with your help we can support these girls through their studies and allow them a pathway to a career that can help them, in turn, support their own families.

By donating you are giving a lifeline and a secure future to girls who otherwise at a young age are often married off and never given the opportunity to learn a skill of their own. With your support, we aim to lift more young girls out of poverty like this.

Thank you and please note that 100% of all donations to DHCT go straight to the Duncan Hospital.
