Story
Duncan is doing a skydive!
Yes, you have read this correctly and yes I may have lost my sanity but on June 18 I am going to do a skydive. It was first put to me that this might be a good idea by one of the trainers at the gym and having first scoffed at the idea I thought, on reflection, why the hell not? After all my will is up-to-date and so Francesca and Daniel have (sort of) given me their blessing!!
I know there are quite a few people who would pay lots of money to see me jump (or rather be pushed) out of an aeroplane at several thousand feet but for those people the bad news is that I intend to have a parachute with me - and an instructor!
To encourage me not to chicken out at the last minute I’m going to do this to raise money for the Anne Frank Trust. You will know who Anne Frank was, but the Trust in her name was set up as an educational forum for children and young people to teach them about the scourge of antisemitism, The Holocaust, and the evil of racial discrimination in general. They do a stellar job training young people as “peer educators“ to spread the message among their own peer group across their school communities and elsewhere
Like so many other organisations in this sector, they need charitable donations to be able to expand their work, and I am sure you agree that in the current political climate in which we live this could not be more important. Need I say more?
Thank you very much for supporting me in my leap into the unknown!
