Founded in 1990, Durham Book Festival is one of the country's oldest literary festivals, which traditionally takes place every October in some of Durham's most impressive historic venues.
This year, in light of the extraordinary situation we find ourselves in, we will be presenting more than 50 events online and making our content available free of charge for everyone to enjoy.
This means that we will not be generating our usual, vital, box office income. This income not only allows us to put on an exciting and diverse range of events, it also supports our outreach work with families and groups in County Durham, bringing books and the joy of reading to people across the county. If you are able to support Durham Book Festival, you will help to secure the festival's ability to grow and thrive into the future.
Many thanks for your support and interest in the festival and we hope to see you at our online events from 9-18 October 2020.
Durham Book Festival is a Durham County Council Festival produced by New Writing North with support from Durham University, Arts Council England and BBC Newcastle.
