Will you give something up for Lent? Why not make your sacrifice more meaningful? From 5 March, many of us will be giving up foods like chocolate, sweets, coffee, or cakes as a personal test of self-discipline. This year, you can do more than just give up a treat—use this time to make a real difference in the lives of children with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities, and rare genetic disorders that cause motor learning impairments.
Many of the children we support at Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity are fed by an external tube (PEG) directly into their tummy. Some may never taste chocolate, unable to eat or drink like we do. A PEG tube provides the nutrients they need to grow and thrive, but it also means they don't have the same choices we do when it comes to food.
When you give up your treat, please consider donating the money you save, or challenge your friends and family to sponsor you. Every donation will help a child, like Jothi, take their next step towards independence as they reach key developmental milestones that was once thought impossible.
Join us today and GIVE IT UP for Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity.
