In 2018, Eastside unexpectedly received a generous cheque for £10,000, as a gift in will, from a certain Lund family. Matt Lane, Eastside's CEO / Artistic Director, immediately recognised the name Lund as the same name as his old school's English teacher. He contacted the solicitors who issued the cheque and they confirmed that it was indeed David Lund, Matt's former teacher, who had made the precious gift.

David Lund dedicated his life to inspiring thousands of pupils to reach their creative potential through his passion for the arts, literature, comedy and jazz.

Matt decided that the best way to honour David's memory and his familys wonderful generosity was to set up The Lund Fund, with the aim of turning this £10,000 gift into £1 million. Brought to life by a national programme of creative learning opportunities, the purpose of The Lund Fund is to work with and inspire the most underserved young people across the country, for the long term future.

In 2023, we hosted our first ever April Foolery fundraising event in the West End. So far we have raised over £50k. Can you help us reach our goal of £1 million?
