Story
It’s 3.45am, you’ve called 999 because of a medical emergency, there are delays due to extreme demand, but then a volunteer community first response car pulls up to provide immediate care until the ambulance arrives…

Your help will support a life-saving community first response car across East Suffolk 🚑
These cars are operated by professional volunteer community first responders (CFR) trained by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust and supported by the East of England Ambulance Service Charity.
Responding to life-threatening 999 calls in our communities these dedicated volunteers often arrive before the ambulance to provide critical care.

Dedicated CFR cars can be moved throughout their shifts reaching rural and uncovered areas where ambulance response times may be longer. These cars will be a lifeline for patients in life-or-death situations, delivering rapid support when every second counts.
Why your support is so important
• Faster response times to life threatening emergencies in rural areas and areas with high demand
• More ambulances freed up thanks to trained volunteers who can assess and discharge patients after non-injury falls
• Mentoring support for new CFRs, helping build confidence and capability in areas with fewer volunteers—or where local coverage is strong, and volunteers can support neighbouring communities
• Increased resilience across the region, ensuring no community is left behind

Your generosity will help fund:
• Running and support costs for community response volunteer cars
• Medical equipment and supplies
• Volunteer training, support, and mentoring
• Community outreach and awareness
These roaming cars are in addition to the incredible work already being done by local CFR groups in their own areas across the east of England, thank you to every single one of them.
The roaming car will enhance and extend that support, bringing life-saving care to those who need it most.
Your donation could save someone’s life.
It could mean the difference between waiting and surviving. It could help a volunteer reach a patient in cardiac arrest, a vulnerable person after a fall, or a community in need of urgent care.

Together, we can do our best to ensure no one is left waiting in an emergency.
Please donate today and help us continue this vital resource to communities across the east of England.
Should the amount raised exceed the target any surplus will be directed towards supporting the essential work of Community First Responders (CFRs) across the east of England.
Thank you for supporting your local ambulance volunteers.
