The intensive care team from East Surrey Hospital have formed a team for this years Run Reigate, running alongside family and friends on 19 Sept.

The team have worked tirelessly to support patients in our local communities throughout the pandemic looking after those who are critically ill, and are looking forward to taking part in Run Reigate as a team.

Donations to the hospital charity have helped through COVID-19 by providing tablet computers for patient/family video caIls, developing and improving rest areas for staff, providing the ICU team with foot massagers, to help with the pain of being on our feet for long shifts in full PPE, new books and information for children losing a parent, and by funding new psychological support for staff.

In the coming months we hope to use charitable funding to create new displays in the intensive care family room to help families and visitors understand the environment they find themselves in, and help them feel welcomed, and clear about what is happening around them in the unit.
