Story
Everest Base Camp Trek 2023
Three years ago, our family embarked on an extraordinary journey to Everest Base Camp with one mission—to raise funds and awareness for the children of Galaxy Gurukul.
At that time, the school had just 95 students. Over 16 days, we trekked 130 km, reached an altitude of 17,598 ft, endured temperatures as low as -15°C, and overcame extreme terrain and low oxygen levels to reach Everest Base Camp on 14th November 2023. Every step was driven by our commitment to giving underprivileged children access to quality education. Today, that journey has created a lasting impact. Galaxy Gurukul has grown to more than 300 students, and the funds raised have helped establish a fully equipped IT Lab, install air coolers, provide new desks and chairs, and enhance the school's infrastructure with modern learning facilities.
What began as a challenging trek has become a journey of transforming lives—creating better opportunities and brighter futures for hundreds of children.

Everest Base Camp Trek Challenge
What followed our successful summit exceeded all expectations.

The challenge became a symbol of perseverance and purpose, bringing together individuals from across the UK and beyond who shared a common belief that every child deserves access to education and opportunity.
News Coverage
The campaign gained widespread attention and was featured by several major UK media outlets, including BBC, ITV News, BBC Look East and other regional news platforms.
This extensive media coverage helped raise awareness about the importance of accessible education and inspired more people to support the mission of Galaxy Gurukul.
Impact
The true success of the Everest Base Camp Trek Challenge was not measured by the altitude we reached, but by the lives it transformed.
At the time of the trek, Galaxy Gurukul supported around 95 students. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the funds raised helped improve the school's infrastructure, establish an IT Lab, provide desks, chairs and air coolers, and enhance the overall learning environment.
Every pound donated supported free education, nutritious meals, uniforms, books, healthcare, and a safe space where children could learn and thrive.
Today, Galaxy Gurukul has grown to support more than 300 children from underprivileged backgrounds in Kolkata. The Everest Base Camp Trek proved that when people unite behind a shared purpose, determination and compassion can create lasting change and brighter futures for generations to come.
