Visit the charity's profileFor Ramadan 2019 the Edna Adan Foundation is raising funds to open a Mother Child Health (MCH) Clinic in Habaas Weyn, a small town 25 km from Hargeysa, the capital of Somaliland. The local communities have the highest maternal mortality in the country and have NEVER had access to any health services.
The health centre will provide life-saving support for mothers and babies. It will also serve as an outreach learning centre for nurses, midwives and medical students from the Edna Adan University Hospital.
The community of Habaas Weyn have donated the use of a building, but it needs renovation, water supply, equipment and medicines to become functional. When it opens, medical staff will be provided by the Ministry of Health.
