Edrington employees from around EMEA are delighted to be taking part in Edringtons first ever Edrington Stride event on 31st August 2023! Participants will be hiking 29km from Helensburgh to Arrochar to raise funds for Giving More International. Giving More International is a Scottish charity set up by Edrington to support employee fundraising. Donations made to Giving More International will, after being triple matched, be donated to staff nominated charities Refuweegee and The Blide Trust in Orkney. This final amount being split equally between the two charities.

With this in mind, we have set ourselves an ambitious employee fundraising target of £30,000 so please dig deep, all donations will be very much appreciated, however big or small!
A person who upon arrival in Glasgow is embraced by the people of the city, a person considered to be local.
Refuweegee was set up in December 2015 to provide a warm welcome to forcibly displaced people arriving in Glasgow. As a result of the amazing response from people in Glasgow and beyond, they have provided over 10,000 community-built, personal welcome packs and emergency support packs to people all over Glasgow and across Scotland.
The charitys aim is to enable the existing community in extending the friendly welcome that Glasgow is world renowned for. Refuweegee do this through their welcome packs, events and volunteering opportunities. They try to provide everyone who wishes to get involved with an opportunity to do so; be it through writing a letter, donating essential items, joining them at an event or fundraising.
The charity work with multiple organisations around Scotland, from their partners who distribute welcome packs through to schools and community organisations looking to do something similar in their area. Refuweegee ultimately operates with the very simple objective of making the world a nicer place to live.
The Blide Trust is a charity set up with the aim of promoting mental wellbeing in Orkney, through active personalised support with a focus on recovery.
People join The Blide Trust service as members. Anyone who has lived experience of mental health problems and their carers are welcome to join or take part in the variety of activities and services that the Trust provide.
The Trust offer a range of activities which are reviewed regularly in response to the ideas and interests of members. People are encouraged to get involved in whatever way they would like to and, for some this means becoming involved with the work of the Blide; this can be helping to cook the lunches, working in the café or garden or taking part in the work of the admin unit. However, the choice is always up to each individual!
Member testimony - Ive got a lot from the Blide and I hope that Ive contributed too. Ive gained confidence and can laugh at myself (and others!). If I have a problem, there is always a member of staff to talk to.
