Story
Last winter’s figures revealed the scale of need across Wandsworth. Between November 2024 and February 2025, over 1,150 households came to us for help, and we provided more than 2,900 emergency food parcels. Many visitors were parents skipping meals, older neighbours struggling with bills, and individuals facing sudden hardship.
Each parcel contains three days of essentials, and it costs £10 to feed one person for a week. With an average household size of 2.5 people, food support often prevents families from having to choose between heating, rent, or food. Continued funding is vital to keep our doors open and ensure local families do not go hungry this winter.
Natalie Cooper, Communications & Wellbeing Manager at Earlsfield Foodbank, said: “Every food parcel represents a household under pressure. Our priority is supporting our local community — the people who live, work, and raise families here. Continued funding is essential to keep our doors open so we can ensure that no vulnerable neighbour goes without food or support this winter.”
As the colder months approach again, Earlsfield Foodbank urges local residents, businesses, and community groups to lend their support through donating any amount.
Thank you.
