Story
Everest in the Alps is one of the toughest winter endurance challenges in the world, and it started with a father’s determination to make a difference.
Rob’s son, Toby, had been diagnosed with a low-grade brain tumour at just five years old. In response, Rob and 13 teammates took on an extraordinary challenge - skiing 8,848m, the height of Mount Everest, over four gruelling days in the Swiss Alps. Their efforts raised an incredible £3 million for The Brain Tumour Charity.
That first event helped launch the Everest Centre for Research into Paediatric Low-Grade Brain Tumours - the largest global investment in this field. The Centre brings together leading experts from across Europe and the USA, driving forward research to better understand these tumours and improve outcomes for children and families affected.
Ten years and £6 million later, Everest in the Alps has grown into a powerful movement - one of endurance, hope, and determination to find kinder, more effective treatments for children living with a brain tumour.
