A Greener, Cleaner Future for hoppa

hoppa is a lifeline for some people, providing wheel-chair accessible, supportive and affordable transportation for anyone that can't use ordinary transport. Our charity helps people to attend their hospital appointments, get to the shops, grocery stores and everywhere else they need to go. Supporting independent mobility helps people to achieve better social, health and economic outcomes.

Our community transportation also makes a positive difference to the environment. hoppa's buses make around 70,000 passenger trips every year and we're quite good at scheduling the buses to make the most efficient journeys. This reduces the number of cars on the roads, improving road safety and air quality for everyone.

You can help us to contribute to a greener, cleaner future: we usually replace 3 vehicles every year with newer models to achieve cost, reliability, efficiency and safety targets that we set for ourselves. This year we'd like to make two of those vehicles electric ones. Running a pilot project with two new electric vehicles should help give us experience and confidence to transition to an all electric fleet of buses.

Electric vehicles may even attract new customers which will increase the usage and relevance of hoppa in the community, a very positive outcome indeed!

Electric buses have virtually zero emissions and are much quieter and cheaper to run. But the cost of electric minibuses is quite high and so we need your funding help to make this project possible.
