Story
Our first mobile AED unit is soon to come into service on the railway, providing potentially lifesaving equipment for our volunteers, visitors and staff. We are now fundraising for further units to increase this coverage across the railway. This means that no matter where you are on the railway should the worst happen anyone who may experience sudden cardiac arrest can have access to an AED as soon as possible.
It is reported that fewer than 1 in 10 people survive out of hospital cardiac arrest but with access to a defibrillator within 3-5 minutes survival rates greatly increase. This is why we are increasing the number of devices we have available at the railway and we need your help to do it.
Any donation no matter the size gets us closer to another piece of lifesaving equipment to help us continue to make the East Lancashire Railway a safer and more accessible place.
