🌟 Help Us Get Elvaston’s Stained Glass Shining Again 🌟
Three historic stained-glass windows, once part of Elvaston Castle’s Gothic Hall, are finally back home after an extraordinary journey — and now we need your help to restore and display them for everyone to enjoy.
✨ Their story:
Originally installed in the 1800s, the windows were removed for safekeeping during WWII, sold at auction in 1964 and rediscovered in 1980 in a Derbyshire village before being taken to Germany for study and conservation.
After decades away, they were returned to Elvaston in 2024 thanks to fundraising — but they remain too fragile to display safely.
🛠️ Our goal:
We’re launching a fundraising campaign to raise £10,000 to complete their professional conservation and create museum-quality illuminated display cases. We want to ensure that these treasures are protected and can shine once again for generations to come.
💚 How you can help:
Every donation, large or small, brings us closer to revealing these stunning pieces of Elvaston’s history.
