Tarek lost his hearing 8 years ago after being detained and tortured in Afghanistan. He was left with no choice but to leave Afghanistan and make the treacherous journey to Greece in hopes of finding safety for him and his children. Unfortunately along the way, 2 of his precious daughters lost their life's at sea and Tarek was left alone and in silence.

Our medical team, after hours of trialling different hearing aids, were able to find the right match for Tarek and thanks to your donations, Tarek was given the momentary gift of hearing his surviving daughters voice for the first time in 8 years.
