The crisis in Syria began in March 2011, unleashing a previously unimaginable escalation of hardship,which to date has continued unabated. The ongoing crisis has inflicted terrible suffering upon millions of people. 11.1 million Syrian people need humanitarian aid, and 9.8 million people in face food shortages.
Alhamdulillah, since the devastating conflict began, Islamic Relief has delivered more than £350 million worth of aid to the people of Syria. Aid has reached neighbouring countries (Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey for Syrian refugees) assisting millions of vulnerable Syrians forced to flee their homes.
In 2020 alone, because of your donations, we helped over 2.5 million people affected by the Syrian conflict. Our teams on the ground have been able to provide life-saving assistance.
