Story
On Sunday 12th October, our dedicated team of companions, staff, and supporters will be taking on an epic cycling challenge—riding from dawn ‘til dusk to make a meaningful impact. From 7:30am to 6pm, we’ll be clocking up miles on a 10-mile route around St Albans or on static bikes in the Emmaus Hertfordshire community.
Our goal? To collectively cycle at least 310 miles—the distance from St Albans to the Emmaus International offices in Montreuil, Paris! But we’re not just doing it for the exercise...
We’re raising vital funds to support Emmaus Asia Society’s launch of two Smart Classes in Killai, Tamil Nadu, India. These digital classrooms will provide life-changing educational opportunities for tribal children at the Child Development Centre and a neighbouring school. Access to digital education opens up futures that were previously out of reach, helping to break the cycle of poverty.
Any funds raised beyond our target will go towards our ongoing work to combat homelessness in Hertfordshire, offering people a home, meaningful work, and the chance to rebuild their lives.
We’d love for you to support us, whether by donating, joining us on the ride, or cheering from the sidelines. Every mile we cycle and every pound you give gets us closer to a brighter future for children in India and people facing homelessness here at home.
Acts of solidarity like this one can be very valuable for Emmaus companions as it is often key to helping to rebuild self-esteem, proving that everyone has the capacity to make a difference to the lives of others.
Thank you for your support. Let’s ride for change—together.
