Emmaus Sheffield try to promote a healthier lifestyle as part of the support we offer Companions, working with the them to make small lifestyle changes, which could lead to improved health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally.

This year Adrian, one of our Companions, has set himself a goal to improve his health and fitness, and to challenge himself more. To make sure he achieves his goal, he has signed up for the Sheffield Half Marathon, the Leeds Half Marathon and is rounding off his year with the York Full Marathon in October.

He has joined the gym and is already training towards the marathons, and he would like to use his challenge to raise vital funds for Emmaus Sheffield, giving back to those who are supporting his current journey.

UPDATE

Challenge 2 complete:

On one of the warmest days of the year so far, Adrian successfully completed the Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 11th May - marking an impressive milestone in his 2025 challenge journey by finishing 2 of the 3 challenges set for this year. 🏃🏻

He now has 5 months to train for the full marathon in York, but we know he is going to smash it!! 💪

Challenge 1 done:

Adrian completed the Sheffield Half Marathon on 23rd March 🏃🏻👏 and he finished in great time too!!

Nicole, our Deputy Community Leader, was there to cheer him on!

Next up, the Leeds Half Marathon in May.
