When Emmie was diagnosed with cancer at just 14 weeks old, our world changed overnight. Hospitals became home, and everything felt uncertain. In the middle of the chaos, we searched for anything that could bring comfort, familiarity - even just a moment of normality. For us, that was books.

Books gave us something to hold onto. A way to soothe Emmie. A way to feel like parents. A way to imagine a world beyond the beeping machines and medical routines.

That’s why we created Emmie’s Books - a small, family-led charity with a big mission:

To gift carefully chosen, brand-new books to children undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals across the UK.

📚 Why Books Matter

Reading can calm a racing mind, distract from painful procedures, and create moments of connection between frightened children and their families.

We work directly with NHS play teams, cancer wards, and other charities to supply books that bring smiles, spark imagination, and soothe young hearts.
