April Fools Day - Endangered species are no joke

Though our April Fools Day prank is a bit of fun, its no joke that we need to act now to save endangered species around the world. As a registered charity, Twycross Zoo relies on donations to fund our work which helps to save species globally.

Nobody wants to smell like a chimpanzee or a rhino but we all want to save them from extinction, right?

This year for April Fools Day, we released a 100% non-existent collection of fragrances, inspired by the scents of some of our most notable species. Aimed to raise awareness of the threats animals face in the wild and how your support of Twycross Zoo can help secure their future.

Twycross Zoo is proud to be working at the forefront of conservation, helping to protect and preserve species both here at the zoo and around the world, through in-situ conservation projects; but we cannot do it without your continued support.

As a registered charity, we rely on visitors and donations to fund our work to support and save these beautiful creatures. We would be truly grateful if you can support us with a donation, or visit to Twycross Zoo.

It really is no joke that many species around the world are facing threats to their existence, primarily caused by humans.

Twycross Zoo is home to some of the most endangered animals on the planet and is working to protect and preserve them through ex-situ breeding programmes, research, education and in-situ conservation projects. This includes critically endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger, Amur leopard and Eastern black rhino as well as all four great apes, who range from endangered - critically endangered on the IUCN Red List.
