Story

The parents of St. Mary's pupils Jesse and Abigail Amara come from, and still have, family who live in Sierra Leone. Before their children were born, they planned on going to Sierra Leone to start an orphanage and a school. When their children were born, they changed the timeline on these projects and they have now started to build an orphanage initially big enough to house six baby boys and six baby girls. The building has the potential to expand and include more levels, and when they retire, the Amaras plan to go and help run it. Both Jesse and Abigail will eventually follow and continue their legacy. Abigail has been one of the most consistent members of the Middle School ERI team this year along with Chloe Crosbie and Daisy Davies and we want to give back to them for such an amazing cause. After the incredible response to the appeals we have had so far, this is a truly incredible project to get involved with and we know that any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference to the lives and futures of these children.
