Story
ESOL Scotland provides vital English language classes to adults so they can build their lives in Scotland. Our learners are refugees and migrants on a low income who need language skills for work, supporting their families and integrating into their communities. Our classes teach relevant skills like communicating with doctors and teachers, accessing services and applying for jobs.

We work with learners from literacy to intermediate levels as well as providing specialist course such as ESOL with numeracy, money or digital skills and ESOL with yoga, screen printing, creative writing or photography. We work with amazing partner organisations and over 60 dedicated volunteers and last year we reached over 600 adults.
“You need an interpreter everywhere you go, GP, lawyers, but now I can do it myself”
We have been kiltwalking since 2020 and every blister has been worth it! We have raised over £15,000 which has supported refugee learners with digital access and provided first steps in learning with welcoming community classes.
Our Kiltwalkers of 2025 are staff, learners, volunteers and supporters who all want to raise as much as we can to support our English classes
Thank you for your support!
