⚓️ Woggles Off, Trainers On! ⚓️
The volunteers of 11th Barry Sea Scouts are officially swapping their woggles for running shoes on May 17th to tackle the Barry 10k! 🏃♂️💨
Disclaimer: We use the term "running" very loosely here. Given that most of us are in our 50s (or close enough to feel it in our knees), it’s more likely to be a very determined, slightly breathless, "power walk."
We’re hitting the pavement to fund this year’s Summer Camp, but we need your help to get our young members there.
🧗 The Reality Check
We all know that life is getting a bit more expensive lately. Between soaring household bills for parents and the rising costs of equipment, transport, and site fees for Scout Groups, the "price of adventure" is climbing higher than a scout on a climbing wall.
We believe every young person deserves a week of camp, regardless of the bank balance at home. That’s why we’re "running" our socks off—to keep camp accessible for everyone!
💇♂️ The Stakes Are High (and Neon)
To make things interesting, we’ve struck a deal with Neil. It’s simple:
The Goal: £1,000 for Summer Camp.
The Catch: If we hit that target, Neil has agreed to dye his hair a ridiculous colour just in time for camp!
Do you want to help our young members have the adventure of a lifetime? Yes. Do you want to see Neil looking like a highlighter for a week? Also yes.
