Please help our farm animals!

A fundraiser to expand the space used by our rescue goats, sheep and pigs, many of who are elderly and require more hard standing
A very ambitious fundraiser we know, but this work is so very much needed, and we really need your help.
For those unaware, our site was previously home to Capricorn Animal Rescue, it was abandoned in 2018. We took the site over in 2020 and it was in a huge state of disrepair and we and have been slowly renovating it since then. Major renovation work stopped in 2023, as we simply ran out of money. With escalating vet bills and a cost of living crisis, all of our funds had to go towards caring for the animals that needed us rather than improving our site facilities.
We have taken care of goats, sheep and pigs since 2020, and we have had a never ending battle with wet fields and mud. Our farm animals have a sanctuary home with us as they are one very bonded group made up of very elderly animals, and some with on-going health issues. All of these animals came to Jackson's as a last resort, being one step away from euthanasia.
With the lack of a decent dry summer for some time, we have really struggled with mud and water on our fields. This can be bad for the animals, especially the older ones as it can affect their feet.
Each spring we have done temporary fixes with the wonderful help of volunteers skilled in ground work, but each winter it just gets worse again.
With the help of our skilled ground worker and builder volunteers, we have now created a plan that will solve the problem for good, doubling the space that the animals will have, and providing a huge amount of hard standing for them for the wet times. This plan will also allow us to remove the animals from the field during the winter, allowing the field to recover and grow again in time for summer. It will also give them even more shelter and cosy places to sleep. We are so desperate to do this work but we really need your help!
The plan requires the use of diggers and machinery, skilled operators and builders, which we are blessed to have on our volunteer team, a huge amount of fencing, new gates, and a few tonnes of stone! The total quote for this work is £11,400. This quote is free of labour costs, simply materials. £6300 of it is the concrete needed, which is a HUGE cost, but entirely necessary.
We really struggle to get donations in for the farm animals, as people just don't seem as interested in them as the cats. We are desperately hoping that this fundraising appeal will succeed so that we can start these works in spring this year and the animals will never have muddy feet again!
If you've visited our site and our lovely farm animals have made you smile when parking up, please consider donating them a pound or two, they would be so very grateful.
We will be offering business sponsorship options too, and hopefully holding some fundraising events just for this cause, so we will keep the total updated with the offline donations too!
