Story
As we head into the last week of school, food banks are bracing themselves for the school summer holidays when numbers drastically go up, and donations go down. Schools out, foods out!
Did you know
1 in 10 parents are likely to visit a food bank this summer. The Times recently quoted Food banks as the 4th emergency service in the UK - and they are already close to breaking point (source IFAN)
With 6 weeks of school holidays, families already struggling are really worried how they are going to feed their children during this time. 3 meals a day + snacks, is a lot of extra food to find!
Today, Food Bank Aid is launching an appeal to help over 3,500 children across North London facing hunger over the summer holidays. With your help, we aim to raise £30,000 to help struggling families this summer. This is what your money will do:
£32 will feed one child for 1 week
£64 will feed one child for 2 weeks
£192 will feed one child for the whole of the school holidays
£905 will feed a family of four (2 adults & 2 children) for the entire school holidays
Donating to the School Summer Holidays Appeal helps Food Bank Aid continue to support food banks across North London during the summer months when donations are at their lowest. Please help if you can.
