Story
For lots of our Ferne residents, from our guinea pigs and rabbits to our pigs to our older sheep and goats (who need even more TLC and tasty snacks) the feed room is a really important place!
For most of our resident animals it’s where their food is stored and their meals are prepared.
The room was put in place in 2004 and has lasted well, but 10 years later, the wooden framework has now rotted. This means there is a risk of pest access and infestation which presents a risk to the welfare of our resident animals.
Times are challenging for everyone at the moment, and while we navigate the current financial landscape, we remain committed to ensuring the welfare of our animals. So our solution is a simple one. To raise the funds needed to implement the most cost-effective solution and provide a clean, pest free and safe environment for food preparation.
We believe a prefabricated building which could be installed where the existing room is, would be the most efficient solution.
This essential development will cost us £10000. We will be exploring opportunities for grant funding to raise £7000 and hope to raise £3000 through this appeal. Though should we be lucky enough to exceed the target it will go towards this project and reduce the amount we need to find in grant funding.
We know that funders will look more favourably on applications where some of the funding is already in place. So please help if you can. Every donation will make a difference. You will not only be providing a clean pest free space for all important meal prep. But also, be showing potential funders that we have an incredible network of supporters who believe in the work we do to care for animals in need.
And now, more than ever, that would mean so much to us!
