Story
The villages around Smile Malawi have had no harvest since 2022 due to unusual weather and climate change. The people were very hungry so Smile Malawi took lorry loads of maize to the villagers during 2023/4 but we can no longer sustain this aid. Instead, we started a feeding programme for under 5's in January 2025 which has been very successful. Approximately 160 small children come to the orphanage with their mothers every morning and receive a bowl of fortified porridge. They are all thriving! We need more funds to continue through the next 3 months if possible. There will be no harvest until April 2026 although the adults are eating sweet potatoes and vegetables to survive. Please help if you can and/or please come to the concert on 13 September in Upchurch Village Church at 1900. OPUS 32 a fabulous local choir.
