Using Paritys fleet of adapted minibuses, students take part in community life and experience the world, shopping, eating out, visiting places of interest, making trips locally or further afield as far as London and the Coast. They build decision-making, communication and social skills. They learn to cope when things dont go according to plan. Each student has the flexibility and independence to make numerous trips out.

Paritys minibus fleet is in constant use by our 58 students. We operate six minibuses, two for each day service. Traditional buses or taxis cannot accommodate the number of people nor, often, the size of their power chairs. Up to three students at a time can travel in one of our minibuses, with the necessary staff.

The passengers choose their destinations and who will go with them. The students build confidence, independence and resilience through their experiences. Destinations over the past year included the Hawk Conservancy, Milestones Museum, Beaulieu, and Mercedes Benz World. Students also enjoyed the cinema, skating, bowling and a local pottery café.

One parent told us, Without Parity, he would be much less confident in a crowd. Another said, My daughter would not leave family and venture out.

Students take part in mainstream life, shopping, eating out and visiting places. They interact with people and act as ambassadors with the support of our staff, building awareness and understanding .
