Story
They've survived. Now let's get them home.
For many of the fox cubs in our care, life began with fear. Orphaned. Injured. Hungry. Alone.
Some arrived just days old, eyes barely open and completely dependent on us for survival. Others came to us weak, sick, or suffering from injuries that would have been fatal without intervention.
Thanks to your incredible support, we've been able to give them everything they needed. Warmth, safety, specialist veterinary treatment, round-the-clock feeds, and most importantly - a second chance.
But their journey isn't over yet. In many ways, the most important step still lies ahead.

The life they were born to live
Every fox in our care is here for one reason.
Not to stay with us.
But to return to the wild.
To feel grass beneath their paws.
To explore woodlands and hedgerows.
To hunt, play, roam, and live the life nature intended.
Everything we do at The Fox Project is focused on giving foxes that opportunity.
And before that can happen, they must complete one final stage of rehabilitation.

The final steps to freedom
Before a cub can be fully released, they move into one of our carefully managed soft-release sites. These special locations provide a vital bridge between human care and complete independence, giving young foxes the time and space they need to prepare for life in the wild.
It is here that cubs learn to rely less on us and more on their natural instincts. They become accustomed to their new surroundings, gain confidence, and grow stronger as they begin to explore the world around them.
And when the time is right, the enclosure door is opened.
But unlike a traditional release, the cubs are not simply sent on their way. Through our soft-release programme, they continue to receive food and support while they gradually explore their new environment and build their independence.

Some leave quickly. Others take a little longer. The choice is theirs.
As their confidence grows, they venture further and further from the release site until eventually they move on completely, beginning the next chapter of their lives as wild foxes.
For many, it is the moment they have been working towards since the day they arrived.
The moment they finally get their freedom back.
But freedom comes at a cost
This year, we expect around 175 cubs to complete their rehabilitation journey and take those final steps back into the wild.
To make that possible, we urgently need to fund:
Release Site Starter Kits, preparing and equipping 35 release sites across our region, which includes; construction work, cleaning, bedding and enrichment, food and trannsportation.
Prinivox Treatments for every cub which is a preventative treatment against fleas, worms, and mange.
Microchipping for cubs before release, ensuring traceability and helping support future welfare monitoring.
for the 175 cubs, spread across 35 release site, we need to raise £10,516 to cover these costs and get these cubs back to the wild.

Will you help them take the final steps?
Today, we're asking you to help them complete their journey.
Over the past few months, you've helped orphaned cubs survive against the odds.
You’ve provided the milk that filled hungry stomachs, the medication that fought infection, the warmth that kept fragile bodies alive, and the expert care that gave them a second chance.
Now, they stand on the threshold of the wild.
By funding our release sites, preventative treatments, and microchipping programme, you'll help ensure these cubs can complete their journey and return to the life they were born to live.
After everything they've been through, they deserve more than survival.
They deserve freedom. Will you help give it back to them?
Your gift today WILL give a rescued cub the best possible chance of a successful future.
Help us raise £10,516 and give 175 rescued fox cubs the one thing they've been working towards all season: A return to the wild.
