Our garden located within the wonderful and unique National Memorial Arboretum urgently requires landscaping improvement so that we can provide a pleasant place of reflection and remembrance for visitors.

It has now reached a point where we need to refresh the planting and we wish to place on site suitable recognition of those members of the fire service who have died in the course of their military duties as a result of them being military reservists and being called back to duty and those for volunteered for or who were conscripted into the armed forces and who subsequently died as a result of their military role and who have never before been recorded and remembered as a group.

Likewise, those men and women who, during World War Two, died as a result of their duties as ‘Fire Watchers’ and ‘Fire Guards’ (previously known as Supplementary Fire Parties – otherwise referred to ‘Street Fire Parties’). Never before recorded and remembered as a group.

The Garden is where we hold our annual Service of Remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony and is an important, and indeed, vital venue to assist us achieve our aims and we need to raise £60k.
