Story

The format will be a presentation for an hour, where we will cover Bass and Mackerel fishing off Seaview; tackle, lures, what to use, how to rig it, where to go, at what state of the tide, and how to deal with your catch.

The presentation will be followed by attendees joining three of six breakout sessions of 20 mins each which will cover

1&2) Rods, rigging and tackle (Carrick Reid for lure casting & Andrew Lopes for trolling)

3) Lure casting for bass (Jamie Mossop)

4) Fly fishing for bass (Rob Evans)

5) Trolling and mackerel fishing (Darren Jol) and

6) Gutting, Scaling, filleting, vacuum packing and preparing (Will Robins).

The choice is yours what breakout sessions to attend.

At the start of the seminar there will be a short presentation on behalf of the Seaview Sailing Trust by the SVYC director of sailing, Jon Curtis. The purpose of this is not just to share all our secrets but is a fundraiser with all proceeds going to the Seaview Sailing Trust.

Donations to the Trust would be very much appreciated. Given we have restricted space and want to print the correct number of slide decks, we request that all who would like to attend sign up and make their donation via Just Giving.

Please, click on “Give now” then on the “add a message” page, ENTER THE ATTENDEE'S NAME (s if you are also donating for other family members) and in the message box, type “Fishing seminar”. Swiftaid will add a Gift Aid tax rebate to your donation.

Please remember: add your name to the donation!
