12-Hour Basketball Marathon

The PE department are hosting a 12 Hour Basketball Marathon on Friday 9th 2024.

From the event we aim to donate to chosen charities and support the PE department. These charities are very close to staff members within the department and our students, so your support will be greatly appreciated.

our 3 chosen charities are:

- Young Minds - UK’s leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health.

- Gold Geese - provides personalised practical and emotional support to families of children and young people fighting cancer in South East Essex.

- The FitzWimarc School registered charity

How it works?

The event start time is at 7am and it finishes at 7pm, the idea is that 10 players must always be on the court, keeping the game going. Players will be on the bench ready to sub on and off.

During the day, if you have a PE lesson and you have entered you can play in that time.

During break, lunch and after school everyone is welcome to those who have entered to play.

Everyone that has entered will be get a wristband.

On the day, there will be refreshments, hot food, cakes, and much more.

All pupils have been given a sponsor form however we also welcome online donations. Students can set up their own JustGiving page and link to our event or you are welcome to sponsor a child here.

If you would like to sponsor a child here simply add the amount and the Childs name with an optional short message so that we can track who is being sponsored.
