Story

FITZ PARK CHILDREN’S PLAY AREA APPEAL

If you love Keswick Parks, help us build a new children’s play area in Keswick in the Lake District!

What’s the appeal for?

Keswick Parks Trust is fundraising to create a brand-new, inclusive play area in Fitz Park. We aim to raise £400,000 to create an exciting new facility that is fun and inclusive for the children of Keswick and visitors to the area.

The new play area will offer a modern, safe, and fun environment for children of all ages and abilities to engage in physical activity, imaginative play, and outdoor exploration.

The existing play area and does not meet the needs of all the children who want to use it.

The current play area was built in 2009 and is still hugely popular with residents and visitors to Keswick, however it is at the end of its natural lifespan and some equipment can’t be repaired. In addition, our children deserve a better park that is more physically accessible and inclusive with sensory provision for all children with different needs.

Why does this matter?

Fitz Park Play area is special. This is what people say about it:

• "It is where all the local families of Keswick come together and stay active"

• "It is a hub of activity enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. A lot of visitors to the area are families with young children who benefit greatly from what the park offers"

• "It’s one of the only facilities for children to play and have fun in a beautiful peaceful part of town "

• "I wish the play area was improved."

• "It is a meeting place for all "

Please donate to make our new play area a reality

We are incredibly excited about the positive impact this new play area will have on our community. But we can’t do it without you, We need the support of visitors, businesses, residents, and other organisations.

Every contribution will bring us closer to building a play area that provides all children with a safe and engaging space to play and learn.

The new play area is part of the Keswick Park’s Trust’s commitment to improving the quality of life for families and children in the community.

Keswick Parks Trust (RCN 520327) is administered by Keswick Town Council.
