We are raising funds for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal in several ways: through the sale of our Field of Sunflowers greeting card, through the various fundraising activities of our Independent Flamingo Paperie Partners and their customers, and through the downloading of our Ukrainian Folk-Art Easter Egg template. This beautiful Easter Egg was created for us by Lond (Hoang Trong Trieu Long). This is Lond's way to show his support and help us to raise funds for the people affected by Russia's war on Ukraine.
DOWNLOAD THE UKRAINIAN EGG TEMPLATE HERE (If you think there is no such thing as a 'free' egg template, feel free to make a donation to the Appeal - we suggest £2 or whatever you can afford). Click HERE for a full set of instructions.
I am Lond, an architect. I'm growing up and living in Hue city, Vietnam. I've started working with paper during the time I'm studying architecture at the university. Even though architecture is a technical discipline, I can feel the art inside me.
First, I learnt to create architecture models with paper then I wanted to find a way to make art with paper. I love to play music; I can play guitar, piano and a Vietnamese traditional instrument called Dan Bau.
I am proud to help the people of Ukraine.

I feel fortunate to have been able to create this design for Flamingo in support of such a worthy cause. Sunflowers have always been one of my favourite flowers - I grow them every year in my own garden. They are so strong, and the brightness of the petals is joyous on a sunny day. As they turn their heads towards the sun, they follow the light, and in these dark and terrible times they are a symbol of hope. As the national flower of Ukraine, their symbolism of positivity and strength seems so fitting.
I couldn't help but feel emotional while painting the sunflowers. As an artist, it was important to me to feel that I could use my skills to help, and by donating the design to Flamingo Paperie, it is a small act I can do to support them in raising as much money for the UK DEC as possible.
