In May 2022, Bangladesh experienced small flooding whilst mainstream media were largely unaware. Our volunteers were the first to extend their help to victims by providing food packages and other relief items. A month later the situation worsened and developed into the worst flooding of a lifetime. British Bangla Welfare Trust volunteers on the ground in Sylhet, as well as our medical team who risked their safety and travelled from Chittagong to Sylhet offered free daily aid to victims of the flooding.
We have already started to rebuild the house for a family that our charity has been supporting for the past year in various ways. Minu, pictured below passed away in March after succumbing to cancer. After contributing to her chemotherapy bills we have maintained contact with her family to support them during this difficult time.
The aftermath of a natural disaster such as flooding requires the most effort. We aim to rebuild homes of victims of the floods, as well as continuing to provide free food; medicine; and clothes to those in need. Please donate today to allow us to support those in need
