In this food insecure area, subject to fickle rainy seasons and prolonged droughts, many children just do not have the energy to walk long distances in and out of school every day. We now feed over 2,000 children in 9 local primary schools. Over the years, the schools have seen a substantial increase and a stabilisation in numbers attending every day. The other amazing result is that not only have individual academic results hugely improved, but overall school achievements have also visibly risen (as measured by National exam results). Feeding tums, also feeds minds!
