The Food Club

Our food club aims to help individuals and families in need. High energy costs and inflation mean too many people are making a choice between heating or eating. Your donation will help us to help those most in need

We initially started this project to feed homeless or otherwise isolated people over the pandemic lockdowns. We turned our church building into a hub providing hot meals and support five days a week (Ironically making our congregation homeless in the process!)
We naively presumed everything would simply return to normal once the pandemic was over, but events dictated otherwise! Over the last year fuel and food prices have risen sharply. Many people who were just about getting by are now forced to choose between eating and heating. Schools are reporting that children are struggling to cope because they are hungry,. At the other end of the age scale many pensioners are simply too scared to turn on their heating. So our project goes on albeint in a slightly different form
Our food club aims to help individuals and families cope by providing food at low cost to those in need. It runs each friday afternoon from 13.15-15.00
This initiative only works due to the generosity of our volunteers, local businesses and people like you. So please spread the word to people you know who might need a helping hand - and if you can please do donate, every penny goes to help local people in need. Thank You!
