How your support can help

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women and girls everywhere, can create the future they want.

Women and girls are more likely to be living in poverty, simply because of their gender. They make up half of the worlds population, yet represent a staggering 70% of the worlds poorest people, with unequal access to employment, education and healthcare. We're working with women and girls to change this, and help them claim their rights, to challenge injustice and to fight for gender equality. Your support will make an incredible difference to the lives of women and girls living in poverty.

£30 could provide an essentials kit containing clean clothes, underwear, a torch, soap and other toiletries to help women and girls manage their periods and hygiene when they have lost everything during a humanitarian emergency.

£80 could provide a family in Somaliland with basic food and supplies for one month, while they are unable to earn a living during lockdown, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic.

£210 could provide 10 students with school bags, learning materials and new uniforms, to help ensure they can access an education, no matter what their circumstances are.
