Visit the charity's profileSign up to Footsteps For HOPE with friends, family, and colleagues and take on a fitness challenge that will help raise vital awareness and funds for education projects supporting street connected children in Kolkata, India.
Your challenge is to accumulate as many steps as possible from 12th of April 2022. Each step taken, and every £1 raised, will help support the continued education of a child in HOPE's care. Every 10,000 steps taken will represent the 10,000 miles return to Kolkata, India.
Footsteps For HOPE starts on the 12th of April, which is The International Day for Street Children - an extremely important day as it raises awareness about the plight of street children around the world. It gives a voice to these often-invisible children, to ensure that their basic rights are heard, acknowledged, and not ignored.
Every child deserves an education and the pandemic has cruelly interrupted childrens' education. It is now more important than ever for HOPE to continue to provide the vulnerable children in our care with access to continuous and vital education.
HOPE believes that education is fundamental to building an independent successful life and the chance to escape poverty. Education gives children an opportunity to find their strengths, to reach their full potential and empowers them to pursue careers to provide for themselves, as well as for their future families. HOPE believes that education is critical not only for the development of the individual child, but for the development of society as a whole, and by giving more children access to education, the benefits will inevitably filter through into the wider community.
