Story
Built in 1975, our outdoor school swimming pool has taught generations of children to swim - an essential life skill for those growing up in our seaside town. Each year more than 350 children use the swimming pool during the summer term.
This June, the children of Preston Primary School are taking on an exciting sponsored swim challenge to help raise money for improvements to our wonderful school pool facilities.
Inspired by our local coastline, the whole school will work together to try and swim the distance across Tor Bay from Torquay to Brixham - approximately 4 miles (6437 metres)! Every length swum during the week will contribute towards our collective total as we discover just how many "bay crossings" we can achieve together.
Children of all ages and abilities will be taking part, making this a fun, inclusive challenge that encourages teamwork, perseverance and community spirit. The money raised will go directly towards enhancing our pool facilities so that we can continue providing valuable swimming opportunities for all pupils for years to come.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to our school community and will help support the children as they take on this exciting challenge.
Thank you for supporting Preston Primary School and helping us see if we really can go the distance!
