In loving memory of Daniel James Northcote - 21st April 2009 - 18th July 2026.
Daniel was our much-loved son, brother, partner, grandson, nephew and friend. He was just 17 when his life was tragically cut short following an accident while on a family holiday in Cornwall.
Daniel was a happy, fun-loving boy who grew into a kind, caring and wonderfully funny young man. He had a huge heart and was fiercely loyal to the people he loved. He had a large and very close group of friends who meant so much to him, and he had begun making exciting plans for his future with his partner, William.
Daniel had many interests and talents. He loved Taylor Swift, enjoyed playing rugby, and had a particular talent for technology and computers. He was studying Computer Science at A-Level with hopes of going to university to continue his studies.
One of Daniel's greatest passions was theatre. He joined the youth theatre at The Little Theatre in Leicester when he was just 11, initially being cast as Colin in The Secret Garden. Although lockdown meant that production never opened, Daniel returned to the theatre as soon as he could. Working alongside his dad, Andrew, he discovered a real talent for sound and technical theatre.
From 2022 onwards, Daniel was credited on twelve main-house productions, including three as Sound Designer. His final production was Baskerville. He was incredibly reliable, dedicated and talented, but it was his warmth and the positive presence he brought with him that made him so loved and respected by everyone at the theatre.
Daniel also loved spending time with his family, particularly by the sea. Family holidays and time at their caravan at Caister-on-Sea created many happy memories. He loved being by the coast - although when it came to holidays abroad, his only requirement was that it was "somewhere warm!"
Daniel's final act of kindness was one that will stay with us forever. Having discussed organ donation as a family, we were able to agree to donation when the opportunity arose. Daniel was able to give the gift of life to others, and his organs will help save lives. In this very special way, Daniel lives on.
We have created Forever Daniel as a way of keeping Daniel's memory alive and turning some of our heartbreak into something positive.
The money raised will support The Bodie Hodges Foundation, helping families who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child. The Foundation provides support including counselling and peer support for bereaved parents, children and young people.
We hope that through Forever Daniel, Daniel's name will continue to make a difference to other families at a time when they need support most.
